Preview before import
Preview before import
Section titled “Preview before import”When a generation completes, modelBridge automatically opens the result in Premiere’s Source Monitor — the same place you audition any other clip in your project. From there, you decide what happens next.
The preview panel
Section titled “The preview panel”After generation completes, the modelBridge preview panel appears with your result. Depending on the output type, you see:
Video and images — a thumbnail or video player. Click the card to open the result in Premiere’s Source Monitor for full-screen playback. The result behaves exactly like any other clip in Premiere.
Audio — an inline audio player with play/pause, scrub bar, and time display. Audio results do not open in Source Monitor — Premiere’s Source Monitor does not support audio preview without a video track.
Dual Mode — two cards side by side, one per model. Click either card to open that result in Source Monitor. Clicking the other card switches the Source Monitor to that result. Audio players in Dual Mode are mutually exclusive — playing one pauses the other.
Using Source Monitor before import
Section titled “Using Source Monitor before import”When a video or image result opens in Source Monitor, you are working with it exactly as you would any Premiere clip.
Set In and Out points:
- Press I to set an In point
- Press O to set an Out point
- Press X to clear marks
When you click Import to Timeline, modelBridge reads your Source Monitor marks:
- Replace on Timeline — the result replaces your source clip using your In/Out marks. Only the marked range is placed on the timeline. If no marks are set, the full clip replaces the source.
- Save to Project Bin — always saves the full clip regardless of In/Out marks. Trim in the bin or on the timeline afterward.
This means you can generate a 10-second clip, mark only the 3 seconds you want, and replace your source clip with exactly that range — without any post-import trimming.
Example: You generate a 12-second establishing shot. In Source Monitor, you mark seconds 3–9. Click Import to Timeline — modelBridge replaces your source clip with only that 6-second segment, placed at the exact same timecode. The rest of the generated clip stays in your Project Bin.
Import options
Section titled “Import options”Import to Timeline — Replace Replaces your source clip at its original timecode, track, and scale. If you set In/Out marks in Source Monitor, only that range is placed. The rest of the generated clip remains in your Project Bin.
Available for: text-to-video, image-to-video, video-to-video, ElevenLabs dubbing.
Import to Timeline — Insert Places the full generated clip at the current playhead position on the next available track. Source Monitor In/Out marks are not applied — the full clip is inserted.
Insert is designed for parking a complete result on a new track as B-roll, a reference, or an alternative take. Replace is the precise “swap this clip” mode. When you want an exact range on the timeline, use Replace with In/Out marks.
Available for: all video and audio output types.
Save to Project Bin Imports the full generated clip to your Project Bin in a folder named after the model. No timeline changes. In/Out marks are not applied.
Available for: all output types.

Special cases
Section titled “Special cases”First + End Frame The generated clip fills the exact span between your two source clips on the timeline. Source Monitor In/Out marks are not applied — the clip is sized to fit the gap precisely, which is the intended behavior.
Dual Mode — Import Both Importing both results simultaneously saves both clips to your Project Bin. Timeline import is available for the selected slot only — pick the result you want, then import it to the timeline.
Background generations Results from background generations auto-import to your Project Bin when generation completes — without a preview decision step. A completion chime plays when the result arrives. Find the clip in your bin to preview and place it.
Audio-only results TTS, Voice Changer, and Audio Isolation results use an inline audio player — not Source Monitor. On import, the full audio clip inserts at the playhead on the first available audio track. Video tracks are locked during audio insert to prevent ripple.
