What Happens When Your Subscription Changes
When your trial ends
Section titled “When your trial ends”If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, your payment method is charged automatically and your subscription begins. Nothing changes in the plugin — it continues working seamlessly.
If you cancel during the trial, the plugin works until the trial end date, then switches to read-only mode.
The plugin shows a reminder banner when your trial has 3 days left, and a persistent reminder on the last day so you’re never caught off guard.
When your subscription expires
Section titled “When your subscription expires”The plugin switches to read-only mode. This means you can still open the plugin, browse models, view your generation history, view your cost tracking and reports, access Settings, and see all your data exactly as you left it.
What you cannot do in read-only mode: generate new content, start background jobs, use Dual Mode, optimize prompts, export reports, or add external costs.
Your data is never deleted because of a billing change. Everything is preserved locally and waiting for you when you reactivate.
When your payment fails
Section titled “When your payment fails”If a payment fails, LemonSqueezy retries automatically over several days. During this time the plugin continues working normally — there is a grace period so a single failed charge doesn’t interrupt your workflow.
If all retries fail and your subscription expires, the plugin enters read-only mode as described above. The plugin shows a warning banner during the grace period so you have time to update your payment method.
To update your payment method, click “Manage subscription” in Settings → Subscription, or use the link in your LemonSqueezy receipt email.
When you reactivate
Section titled “When you reactivate”Enter your license key again (or a new one) in Settings → Subscription. Your previous data — generation history, cost tracking, learned constraints, installed models, settings, everything — is still there. No re-configuration needed.
A “Welcome back” notification confirms your data is intact and all features are unlocked.
When you switch devices
Section titled “When you switch devices”Your license works on up to 2 devices. To move to a new device:
- On the machine you no longer need, go to Settings → Subscription and click “Release this device”
- On the new machine, enter the same license key during setup or in Settings
Your local data (history, costs, settings) stays on each machine independently — it is not synced between devices. Each device has its own local data store.
When you’re offline
Section titled “When you’re offline”modelBridge works offline for up to 7 days after your last successful license check. The plugin validates your license in the background during normal use — you won’t notice it happening.
If you’re offline for more than 7 days, the plugin asks you to reconnect to the internet to verify your subscription. Once verified, everything continues as normal.
When your license is revoked
Section titled “When your license is revoked”In rare cases — such as a refund or chargeback — your license may be revoked by LemonSqueezy. The plugin enters read-only mode with a message explaining the situation and how to contact support.
